Game, Set, Match: 5 Couples Share How Online Gaming Helps Them Communicate Better

But if you've done all that and then some, it's normal to ask, "What else?" So, we're here to take a look at one more activity that other couples are doing to battle the quarantine blues together—online gaming.

 

Gone are the days when gaming was a pastime almost exclusively for high school boys in computer shops. With games now more accessible and varied, from 5v5 MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) games played on mobile phones to social simulation games on the Nintendo Switch, more couples have taken up gaming as a shared hobby.

Quiet Quitting: Not a Problem, but a Project

Introduced to millions by engineer Zaid Khan on TikTok, “quiet quitting” calls employees to “quit the idea of going above and beyond.” It bids goodbye to replying to work emails past 6 P.M., saying “yes” to tasks outside of your job description, or agreeing to take on extra shifts. 

For some, it’s a way to enforce boundaries between work and other facets of their lives. For others, it’s a result of feelings of demotivation. In short, regardless of the reasons behind it, quiet quitting is the subversion of hustle culture.

When it comes to a whirlwind as potentially chaotic and disorienting as love, some, if not most of us, decide to venture into it when we're a bit older, wiser, and overall "more mature." Besides, not many of us can probably imagine our high school selves with significant others (I mean, we were barely surviving school!).

But while relationships formed between two young people are often regarded as temporary puppy love, if done right, these can blossom into strong, long-term bonds with years worth of growth and commitment to bank on, and their fair share of unique experiences.
